Run for Office

We need you to run for office! It is time to elect new officers for 2025. The elections will be held at the Fall Conference on October 15th, 2024, in Columbia, Missouri.

A call for nominations is in order for the following officers:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Secretary/Treasurer

  • Northern Director (Columbia, Kansas City region, Moberly, Kirksville, Hannibal, St. Joseph, Clinton, Jefferson City, Warrensburg)

  • Southern Director (Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff, West Plains, Springfield, Rolla, Joplin, Bolivar, Branson, Sikeston, Kennett, Farmington/Fredericktown/Park Hills, Perryville)

  • St. Louis Area Director (St. Louis City and County, Washington, St. Charles, Warrenton, Troy, Festus)

A position on the MONSA Board of Directors is a commitment requiring devotion of time to the MONSA board and each positions’ assigned duties. These duties include monthly board meetings via zoom or conference call, a strategic planning weekend retreat in January, and attendance at the Nurse Advocacy Day in February/March in Jefferson City, NSNA Spring Annual Convention and MONSA State Convention in the Fall. A board position requires attention and is highly rewarding both personally and professionally. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a nursing program approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and must also obtain consent from their dean, director or SNA advisor to hold office.

You can nominate self by filling out the Nominations/Elections application. The form is a fill in form. When you click on the form you will be asked to provide demographic information and will be asked some questions about your leadership experience and why you want to run for an office. You will also be asked to submit a letter of support from your school indicating you are in good academic standing and that the school supports your nomination. To be considered, candidates must submit an application no later than Friday, October 11th, for pre-slating. Nominations will be accepted at the convention on October 15th by 11:00 AM.  Election results will be announced at the end of the convention.
