Featured Speakers and Sessions
Opening Keynote Session: “Nurse Panel of Leaders and featured NSNA Leader Lauren Tickner” - 9:00 AM
Lauren Tickner was elected as the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) Imprint Editor and is Chair of the Image of Nursing for the 2024-2025 Term. She is from San Diego, California, but resides in Ventura County attending California State University Channel Islands, where she is a 2nd-year BSN student. She has 3+ years of healthcare experience previously working as a Student Intern and Physical Therapy Aide. Future plans post the BSN is to further her education pursuing a graduate degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a goal to specialize in cardiac health.
Lauren is excited about the theme for this convention: Nurses Balancing Care for Self and Others. Lauren agrees that “A healthy balance of self-care and patient care is imperative for the transition into becoming a professional nurse”. Lauren will be one of the featured speakers during the opening Keynote Session.

Ashley “A.G.” Griffin has been a nurse for 15 years and a nurse educator for 10 years. She is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi and a 2013 graduate of William Carey University. A.G. is currently the Director of Social Marketing and a Faculty Expert with Hurst Review Services®. She is also the creator of NursingForAll.com, a nursing education and lifestyle website where she blogs and creates content for multiple brands, including Target®, Crocs for Healthcare®, ShiftMed®, and LifetimeTV®. She has been a guest lecturer or speaker at over 200 schools of nursing, state conventions, and hospital systems.
Nurses: Making a Difference in Dementia Care - 1:30 PM
De Minner has spent the last 25 years teaching & consulting in Missouri nursing homes. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Central Methodist in 1993 & her Bachelor Science in Nursing (BSN) from MU Sinclair School of Nursing in 2003. She received her certification to teach dementia care mapping in the United States in 2013 from the Bradford Dementia Group, University of Bradford, UK.
After working in Oncology & long term care management, Ms. Minner became an MU QIPMO nurse in 1998 educating & consulting in nursing home facilities throughout Missouri, focusing on improving care of the person with dementia. She taught in the MU Long Term Care Leadership Academy for RNs & NHAs in LTC until 2018. De has authored articles on Snozelen Activity in LTC & pain assessment in the elderly home health patient with dementia.
She is currently Board President of a local not for profit nursing home, and has recently authored a book on her family’s life with her daughter who has Down Syndrome.
